Rikley Costa Paixao | Community Research Coordinator

Rikley is a community research coordinator for the Urban Health Lab under the Department of Emergency Medicine. Prior to this position, Rikley worked for a year and a few months as a full time Crisis Worker at the Montgomery County Mobile Crisis where he provided crisis intervention to adults and children. As a crisis worker, he was able to gain clinical experience that aligned with his interest in Psychology. Rikley has also volunteered during his free time for folks in the Brazilian Community who require translation assistant. Rikley currently sits on the Advisory Board for Diversity and Inclusion at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Rikley obtained his B.A from Bucknell University in 2022. Prior to attending Bucknell, he obtained his associate degree in Health Care Studies from The Community College of Philadelphia (CCP). Prior to his graduation, he was part of CHOP Research Institute Summer Scholars Program in 2019 where he worked on Neuroscience research that focused on the impact of traumatic brain injury and its relation to neurogenesis. During his time at CCP and Bucknell, he was involved with different clubs and organization that centered around his interests in the realm of social justice. Social justice is not only a passion of his but an intricate part of his identity. Rikley hopes to obtain his masters in a related field and is currently browsing through his options.
